Basalt fiber is a material made from extremely
fine fibers of basalt, which is
composed of the minerals plagioclase, pyroxene, and olivine. It is similar
to fiberglass, having better
physicomechanical properties than fiberglass, but being significantly cheaper
than carbon fiber.
