Listing description Basalt fiber is a material made from extremely fine fibers of basalt , which is composed of the minerals plagioclase , pyroxene , and olivine . It is similar to fiberglass , having better physicomechanical properties than fiberglass, but being significantly cheaper than carbon fiber.
